Dear sirs: please urgently provide us with your best financial and technical offers for 385 tons of BRASS BARS 70/30 diameter 12 mm in conditions of CIF Latakia/Tartus ports in SYRIA According to the following specifications: Technical conditions Book of Brass Bars 70/30: 1- Nomination: brass bars 70/30 Required quantity /385/ tons. 2- Dimension: 12+/- 0.02 mm dia. 3.5-5 m length. 3- Chemical composition: - Copper 70% +/- 1% - Zinc 30% +/- 1% Strange matters: less or equal to 0.45% with single maximum limit of 0.22% (for any of the impurities) except the following: - Pb less or equal to 0.05% - Fe less or equal to 0.05% - Bi less or equal to 0.02% - P less or equal to 0.02% 4- Universal Description: - Surface Appearance: Bars should be smooth and free from outer defects ( oxidation spots, inflexion metal, strange objects, soft cracks, dots of ash, stains). - Uprightness of bars: Bars should be satisfactory uprightness so that actuating on machine with easy form. - Ends of bars: The ends should be free of any burrs and its sections is upright on its axis. - Section of breaking: free from bores and air bubbles strange objects. 5- Physical and Mechanical properties: I- In the state of delivery: 1- Tensile strength 39-45 Kg/mm2 2- Elongation more than or equal to 25% 3- Hardness by brenel (d of ball 2.5 mm – load 62.5 Kg) HB=125-145 4- Grain size 0.025-0.050 mm II- After annealing the tensile specimens: at temperature of 600 – 650 C deg cel. For one hour the mechanical specifications will be as follows: 1- Tensile strength 30-35 kg/mm2 2- Elongation more than or equal to 60% The minimum value of elongation and tensile strength should not meet together simultaneously in one specimen and for this purpose the following formula shall be applied (15xtensile strength)+ (6xelongation) more or equal to 830. 6- Packing and shipping: Bars should be classified as production lots and packed in bundles wrapped in crinckled or polyethylene covering its whole length, and placed in wooden boxes suitable for marine shipping, long storage and accepted by the insurance company with gross weight of 500-1000 kg. 7- Accepting tests: 1- A sample of 200 kg. approximately of a/m brass should be presented with the offer to be tested on the production line , and tested chemically , physically and mechanically at the buyers factory. 2- Preliminary acceptance tests for the goods should be done at the sellers (manufacturers) company laboratories in the presence of Syrian Technical Committee. 3- Final acceptance should be effected at the buyers warehouses after passing physical chemical and operating tests: 4- For testing the tensile strength and elongation a JANAF sample (dumble shaped) of the following dimensions is used: Dimensions/ mm A B C D E SECTION R Bars dia 12+/-0.02 200 80 30 12 11.28 100mm2 10
